The Bank of Ghana has responded to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa’s concerns about a $20 million transfer to the Central Bank of Liberia.
The Bank criticized the MP for publicly sharing documents, which it described as "unfortunate" and potentially compromising security.
The central bank clarified that the funds were part of a longstanding arrangement with the Liberian central bank, in place since 2004, for currency transfers.
The Bank reassured that all procedures were followed correctly and urged public figures to handle sensitive financial matters with care to avoid misinformation and security risks.
