Black Stars coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor says his door is still open to some experienced players who miss out on the recent call ups for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
According to him, these players despite not been invited are still an integral part of the team and will get a call up at the right now.
Akonnor when quizzed on why some experienced players such as John Boye, Jonathan Mensah, Harrison Afful were not invited into to the team ahead of the qualifers to be played later this month.
In his response he said, John Boye, Jonathan Mensah, Harrison (Afful) and the rest, I respect them, you know I have been a player before and I know what they’ve done for this country and if the need be for them to come into the team, they will.”
“I made mention of the squad that played the last time, this is my first time, I don’t want to change things too much…John Boye and the rest, they are important, their time will come” he concluded.
