Ebusua Dwarfs coach J.E Sarpong believes defender Samuel Inkoom deserves a call-up for Ghana’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations double-header next month.
The FC Dnipro player was left out of the 24-man squad announced on Wednesday for the Group E qualifiers against Uganda and Togo.
Inkoom and South Africa-based Rashid Sumaila were overlooked alongside World Cup troublemakers Adam Kwarasey, Kevin Prince Boateng, Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari.
Sarpong says a half-fit Opare ahead of Inkoom beats his imagination.
“I think the experience Samuel Inkoom brings into the team should not be undermined,” Sarpong said.
“I understand Opare is not 100% but still comes ahead of Inkoom that’s a bit strange but all in all it was okay.”
Ghana will play Uganda in Kumasi before taking on Togo in Lome.
