Midfielder Edmund Addo will play his first Champions League game for FC Sheriff this evening when they lock horns with Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk at home in Group D.
Addo started six of the Championship league qualification games in which Sheriff FC defeated the likes of Red Star Belgrade and Dinamo Zagreb to progress to the competition's group stage.
This will be the first time FC Sheriff will be competing at this stage of Europe's illustrious club competition. Their group includes Spanish Giants Real Madrid and Italian Champions Inter Milan.
Edmund Addo helped Sheriff to record a 2-0 over Baiti in the Moldova Divizia National league. The 21-year-old has so far made nine appearances for this season for the club.
Their next Champions League game will be against Real Madrid at the newly constructed Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
