Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has lauded Uganda for the wonderful display against the Black Stars.
Coach Micho’s side were gallant losers against the former African Champions at the Stade Port Gentil on Tuesday.
Andre Ayew’s superb spot kick was enough to earn the Black Stars the three maximum points to start off their quest to win the Cup of Nations on a good note.
Despite losing to Ghana, Appiah has hailed the quality in the Ugandan team.
“I think Uganda were incredible on the day, they showed that they are a good side,” Appiah said on GhOne TV.
“I loved their spirit, they could have equalized if they was enough time. I think Uganda is a team everyone must watch in the competition.”
The Cranes will be hoping to win their second game against Egypt on Saturday to maintain their hopes of progressing in the competition.
