Football fans in parts of Takoradi in the Western Region are excited over the 2-0 of the Black Stars of Ghana over Guinea Bissau in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Speaking to a cross-section of the public in Takoradi after the match, many of them could not hold back their excitement as the Stars scored two goals to qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.
"We are so excited the Black Stars have qualified and we would continue to support them with our prayers," some of the fans stated in an interview with the GNA Sports.
Some were also of the view that the qualification of the team to the next round, was an indication that, they were capable of winning the cup the for Ghana.
According to them, having waited for years for the trophy, it was time the team brings back the trophy to Ghana.
Mr Edmund Kwabena described the qualification as normal, since it had been the normal routine in the competition but said, the ultimate would delight Ghanaians more.
Dominic Acquah said the Black Stars were one of the favourites in the competition and should do everything possible to win the trophy for Ghana.
