President of New Edubiase United Abdul Salam Yakubu says George Afriyie has a greater chance of winning the 2019 Ghana Football Association presidential election ahead of his competitors.
Former Ghana FA vice capo Fred Pappoe, Dreams FC’s owner Kurt Okraku, GHALCA Chief Kudjoe Fianoo and Tema Youth’s bankroller Winfred Osei Kwaku Parma have all expressed their interest in contesting for the nation football governing body's hot seat.
However, Abdul Salam, who is the head of Afriyie's campaign team, believes despite all the names that have sprung up deserve the role, it is the Liberty Professionals Director who stands tall due to his role in helping the growth of the game in the country.
“George Akwasi Afriyie is ahead of all persons who have popped up for the GFA Presidential race," he told Germany-based Topical Radio.
According to him, the mere fact that Mr. Afriyie is not making ‘noise’ in the media and also making incessant donations does not mean he’s asleep and doing nothing momentous to ensure he occupies the vacant Ghana FA top seat.
‘’The fact that he’s not talking on radio or making donations does not mean he is not working. He will come out at the right time.‘’
‘’What is written is written. When the elections are conducted today, he George will win hands down to come and continue the good works of Kwesi Nyantakyi.’’
