The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has issued an apology to Ghanaians following the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
In a statement after a meeting of the Executive Council, the GFA acknowledged the disappointment and frustration caused by the team’s performance, describing it as below national expectations.
The Black Stars failed to qualify for the first time in 21 years, finishing last in Group F, which included Niger, Sudan, and Angola.
This marks a significant decline for the four-time AFCON champions, who have underperformed in recent tournaments, exiting at the group stage in the last two editions.
The GFA expressed gratitude to fans for their support and announced plans to hold a retreat on November 28 to engage stakeholders on the team's future.
