Ghana U20 head coach Desmond Ofei is enthusiastic about the potential promotion of his standout forward, Jerry Afriyie, to the senior national team, the Black Stars, in the near future.

Afriyie, who plays for Thoughts FC, excelled at the 2024 WAFU B U20 Championship in Togo, earning accolades as both the Best Player and Top Scorer while significantly contributing to Ghana's journey to the final.

Although Ghana faced a 2-1 loss to Nigeria in the final match, Afriyie's impressive performances were instrumental in securing the team's qualification for the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
