Ghana's head coach, Otto Addo, acknowledged his team's struggles against Angola’s intense pressing in their 1-1 draw on Friday, which confirmed their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The match in Luanda highlighted Ghana’s inability to cope with Angola’s free-flowing play and aggressive pressing.
Addo admitted that his side was under pressure, stating, "They pressed us very well, held us down in our half."
Ghana had hoped to win the match and then beat Niger to keep their qualification hopes alive, but Niger's surprising 4-0 victory over Sudan ended those chances.
As a result, Ghana will miss the tournament for the first time in 21 years, marking a historic disappointment.
