Ghanaian defender Mohammed Umar has joined Romanian SuperLiga team FC Politehnica Iași on a contract that extends until 2027.

Umar has already participated in cup matches for FC Politehnica Iași and is anticipated to make his league debut shortly. While at Ilves, he achieved victory in the Finnish Cup and helped the team qualify for the Europa League in his last season.
Additionally, he contributed to Ghana's national team success as part of the Black Satellites that clinched the WAFU Zone B U-20 tournament under coach Karim Zito. Currently, FC Politehnica Iași sits 11th in the league with 17 points from 14 games.
