Ghanaian youngster Myron Boadu is set to stay at AZ Alkmaar this summer despite interest from several top clubs.
The 19-year-old has scored an incredible 20 goals and provided eight assists in 39 games so far in all competitions for AZ Alkmaar.
His fine form in the Dutch Eredivisie has reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal, Barcelona Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Ajax.
However, Boadu expects to stay in the Netherlands because of the transfer market being affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.
"It is certainly very quiet around me, I do not know about the boys. Look: we have a very nice group. If people are added, it can be a very nice season," he told de Volkskrant.
"The chance that I will stay has increased because of the crisis. I always said I wanted to win a prize at AZ and that has not happened yet because of circumstances. I think it is really possible here. Then we have to stay together. If a few go away, the momentum may be gone."
Boadu is still disappointed that the season was ended early and AZ weren’t awarded the title, "I also think that we deserved that title the most on the basis of the matches. They will say that they (Ajax) have scored more goals and I understand that. That is their right."
