Accra Hearts of Oak maintained their top spot in Zone B of the NC Special Competition on Sunday with a convincing 3-1 victory over Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium.
After some impressive play by the two sides, the Phobians took the lead just before the break through a Christopher Bonney penalty after Joseph Esso was brought down by Sharks goalkeeper Richard Atta.
Just after recess, the Phobians increased the tally with Umar Manaf scoring after a cross from Christopher Bonney.
Sharks came into the game strongly and reduced the deficit through in form George Amonu.
Skipper Fatawu Mohammed netted Hearts of Oak third goal with a superb strike.
Sharks threatened the Phobians penalty area during the later stages of the game but they were held at bay with the match ending 3-1.
