Jasmine Paolini, a Ghanaian-Italian tennis player, has reached her first Wimbledon final by defeating Croatian Donna Vekic in the longest women's semi-final at the All England Club.

Paolini, who had never won a match at Wimbledon before, attributes her fast-paced game to her Ghanaian heritage. Her mother is of Polish and Ghanaian descent, and Paolini believes her speed comes from her Ghanaian grandfather. She is proud of her mixed heritage, which she feels gives her a unique blend of traits.

Paolini will compete for the Wimbledon title against Barbora Krejcikova on July 13, aiming to make history as the first Ghanaian-Italian singles champion.
