Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has stated that he has nothing to prove again to Ghanaians.
The skipper who returned to the team after missing out on Ghana’s defeat to Kenya last month says he is concentrating on helping the team to get back to winning ways rather than trying to make a point to prove critics wrong.
Gyan also rejected the opinion of some Ghanaians who are not happy with his return to the national team and accused some media persons of championing that agenda against him.
“You cannot say I lacked fitness by your words without you seeing me play. It’s only when the game comes on that you can really assess whether I am fit or not.” Gyan said told footballmadeinGhana.com.
“I don’t have anything to prove again,” Gyan declared.
“You the journalists are the one saying it that I’m not fit. We are about 34 million population here so you are the one saying, it’s not Ghanaians”
“The reason why we are here is to make everyone happy and win.”
