Seasoned journalist Veronica Commey has called for Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku’s resignation, blaming him for the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speaking on Joy News’ 'PM Express', Commey criticized Okraku’s leadership, labeling it the worst era in Ghanaian football.
“This is Ghana’s worst spell in football. Heads must roll,” she emphasized, urging Okraku to take responsibility and resign. Commey dismissed Okraku’s claims that qualifying for the 2022 World Cup was his greatest achievement, citing Ghana’s stronger past performances.
She accused the GFA of avoiding accountability, celebrating successes publicly but evading blame during failures. Commey concluded that urgent reforms are needed to restore Ghana’s football glory, doubting Okraku will step down voluntarily.
