Head coach of Black stars Kwesi Appiah has confirmed that Thomas Agyepong will not be available for Ghana’s two-legged clash with Sierra Leone on Day Three of the 2019 AFCON qualifying tournament.
Agyepong was initially included in the 23 man squad for the game but the player sustained an injury in Hibernian’s cup game against Aberdeen.
The player was expected to brush off the injury and join his teammate but he has now been ruled out after further examinations by the club’s medical team.
” There is no issues of injury or other excuses. All the players invited will be coming. Only Thomas Agyapong is out and there is no plans to replace him. The rest of the squad can cope that is why we invited 23players” He told the media at a press gathering.
“Thomas Agyapong will be out for three to four weeks which makes him ineligible to feature in the game”
Kwesi Appiah also talked about Mubarak Wakasu who suffered a motor accident in Spain.
"He Mubarak Wakasu as you know had an accident on his way coming Back to Ghana, thank God he didn’t sustain any injury and we are expecting him to join the team tomorrow”
