Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom said signing for Greek Premiership side Platanias FC on a six-month loan deal comes as “a huge relief” to him.
The guardsman had not enjoyed play time at Ukrainian side Dnipro for close to a year now and that almost derailed his international career, but sealing a deal on Monday makes him “a happy player now.”
“I am so happy and relieved,” the 24-year-old told Goal Ghana moments after sealing the deal. “It’s a dream come through. I am ready to give off my best to prepare me for the months ahead.”
The 2009 Under-20 World Cup winner said although the deal will give him enough first team experience ahead of the 2014 World Cup, his immediate priority is to help the 14th-placed Greek side to improve their standings on the log.
“Let me focus on club duties first and after we can talk about the World Cup. I am most grateful to God for this opportunity. I am going to make good use of it,” Inkoom, who was once loaned to Ligue 1 side Bastia, stated.
