One of the newly appointed board members, Kofi Abban, believes that it is time to make Asante Kotoko a great club in the local scene and beyond again.
Asante Kotoko were once heavyweights of African football, winning the CAF Champions League on two occasions and losing the 2004 CAF Confederation Cup to bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak after two legs.
The Ghana Premier League record holders (24) were named as part of the six CAF 21st century best clubs alongside Al Ahly, Esperance, Etoile du Sahel, Zamalek and TP Mazembe.
In recent times, Kotoko has failed to make an impact in continental competitions.
Last season, they were knocked out of the CAF Champions League qualifying round and were subsequently booted out in the CAF Confederation Cup final qualifying round as well.
Mr. Kofi Abban who is the CEO of Rigworld Group in a tweet said"It’s time to make ASANTE KOTOKO great Again ."
