Asante Kotoko head coach Maxwell Konadu has revealed the reason behind his decision to drop first-choice goalkeeper and club captain Felix Annan in their last four games in the Ghana premier league.
It’s the fourth time that the 25-year-old hasn’t started a Premier League match under Konadu, with the head coach opting for a change between the sticks after Annan’s marriage ceremony.
Speaking just after the WAFA clash, Konadu revealed why Baah has been starting in place of Annan, “Baah [Kwame] is doing very well and we are happy with him, even though Felix [Annan] is our first choice but Baah is doing well,” Konadu said in a pre-match interview against WAFA on Wednesday.
Felix Annan has now missed Kotoko’s last four games; first was due to his marriage ceremony against Ebusua Dwarfs. Since then, he has missed games against Hearts of Oak, Liberty Professionals and West African Football Academy (WAFA) which the team drew goalless against his former club and Konadu has confirmed it as a tactical decision.
Asante Kotoko will take on Dreams FC in Dawu on Sunday and it is unknown whether Felix Annan will reclaim his number one spot or Kwame Baah will continue with his impervious form in post for the Porcupines.
