Juventus ace Kwadwo Asamoah has confirmed he will return to international duty in September.
The 29-year-old has not featured for the Ghanaian national team since the country's wrecked 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has tried to convince the midfielder to return to the team but had been unsuccessful in the past.
But the midfielder has finally decided to return to the team for the 2019 African Cup of Nations against Kenya on September 7.
“Honestly speaking, I will come back to the national team, he told Citi FM
"Although I’ve been speaking I will come back to the national team for a year or two, I was always looking for the right time.
“For the national team, it’s not like I’ve quit it. I’m telling you I will be with the national team very soon. Yeah, I will be back [in September for the Afcon qualifiers] and beyond.”
Asamoah's career has been rocked with recurrent injuries.
