Ghana Football Association Vice President George Afriyie believes Kwesi Appiah is competent enough to handle the Black Stars team.
Appiah was reassigned as head Coach of the Black Stars after topping a list of Coaches interested in the job.
The Ghana Football Association however settled on the former Ghana U23 Coach due to his experience as head trainer of the senior National team.
George Afriyie insists the ex-Kotoko manager fit the bill as head Coach of Ghana.
“I don’t know who said Kwesi Appiah is not competent to handle the Black Stars, remember he only left Ghana on mutual consents not based on performance,” he told said.
“He is competent enough to handle the Black Stars team, he has gotten some experience from Sudan which even makes him a better Coach now.
Kwesi Appiah’s reign as Black Stars Coach officially begins on May 1.
