Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is delighted to score in Red Bull Salzburg’s ‘big win’ against Austria Lestaneau in the OFB Cup.
The Bundesliga side thrashed the lower division side 5-0 to win the Austrian Cup on Friday night as football returned following an enforced break by Coronavirus.
“Thanks to you all for the love and support. Big win and happy to score,” he posted on Twitter after the game.
The goal will be a memorable one for the 22-year-old who has won his first career silverware.
The match in Klagenfurt which was played behind closed doors because of the Coronavirus pandemic produced an exciting possession-based football.
After dominating the early opening minutes of the game, Red Bull Salzburg shot into the lead in the 20th minute courtesy Dominik Szoboszlai.
Red Bull Salzburg quickly doubled their lead a minute later after Dominik Sturmberger put the ball at the back of his own net.
