Chelsea legend Marcel Desailly has advised Abdul Baba Rahman not to give up on his dream of becoming a Blues regular despite not playing for them for over two years.
The Ghana international joined the Stamford Bridge outfit from Augsberg for £21.7m in August 2015 but has made just 23 appearances in five-years.
He has been shipped out on loan on four occasions, including two spells at German side Schalke, one at French outfit Reims and lately Real Mallorca.
Despite his constant struggles with recurring injuries, Desailly is adamant Baba Rahman still has what it takes to succeed at Chelsea.
“Baba Rahman should not give up. I think he has the level of being Chelsea’s first-choice left-back. He should try more, he went out on loan to the Spanish League this season so he should come back with a better mindset to be able to perform. The Premier League is very difficult because of the speed of the game so it’s not easy but he has to cope with it” Desailly, who spent six years at Chelsea between 1998 and 2004, told FootballmadeinGhana.
