Marcelo has Fluminense contract terminated after arguing with coach

Fluminense has announced the mutual departure of former Real Madrid left-back Marcelo, shortly after an apparent disagreement with manager Mano Menezes during a match.

Marcelo was preparing to enter the game against Gremio on Friday when he seemed to react negatively to a directive from Menezes, who instructed him to return to the bench instead.

Menezes later explained to the press that he had intended to substitute Marcelo in but changed his decision after hearing something he found unsatisfactory.
