Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso took to social media to celebrate Villarreal on the its 97th anniversary.
Villarreal CF turned 97 on Tuesday March 10, 2020.
Villarreal is a Spanish football club based in Villarreal, a city in the province of Castellón within the Valencian Community.
Founded in 1923, it plays in La Liga, holding home games at Estadio de la Cerámica, with a capacity of 24,890.
Wakaso played for the club between 2011 to 2012, where he made his La Liga, Uefa Champions League and Europa League debuts.
"Happy 97th anniversary to Villarreal. I made my first laliga champions league & Europa league debut with this great club," he posted on Twitter.
The 29-year old Ghanaian made 17 appearances for the Yellow Submarines before leaving for Espanyol in 2012.
