Sports marketing consultants, Neil Armstrong has said the Ghana Football Association took the right directives to stop betting companies from using the Ghana Premier League fixtures on their platforms.
The President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Okraku had early cautioned betting sites to desist from using the local leagues for betting odds and acquire the license needed or face legal actions from the FA.
"For me we should talk about it from the marketing perspective, I own a property, you want to exploit that property in some ways to earn some revenues, certainly you’ve got to confirm with me"
"I'd reckon that there've got to be some conversation between the betting companies and the FA to come to an agreement that, we want to use your property"
The EX-Hearts of OAk chief further stated, the FA needs to generate income from their product.
"There’s got to be some benefits, it cannot be the case that you just take and benefit from it with any value not coming to the FA . I struggle to understand how that works."
