Xabi Alonso emphasized his intention to concentrate solely on the match rather than the emotional aspects of returning to Anfield when Bayer Leverkusen faces Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday.
He dismissed inquiries regarding his past connections with the Reds, stating that "there is no time for tourism."
Under his leadership, Leverkusen enjoyed a remarkable 2023-24 season, suffering only one defeat across all competitions.
They secured their inaugural Bundesliga title, breaking Bayern Munich's 11-year reign in the league, and also achieved a German double, although they fell short in the Europa League final against Atalanta.
