Ghana head coach Otto Addo has attributed the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to their inability to win home games.
A 1-1 draw against Angola in their penultimate qualifier sealed their elimination. Ghana needed a win against Angola and another against Niger to stay in contention, especially after Sudan's 4-0 loss to Niger.
Addo highlighted the importance of winning home fixtures, saying, "In these tournaments, you have to win your home games."
Ghana failed to win both of their home qualifiers, contributing to their 4th-place finish in Group F with just two points. Their final match against Niger is now meaningless. This marks the first time in 20 years that Ghana will miss the AFCON.
