Ghana coach Otto Addo has responded to calls for his dismissal after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). A 1-1 draw with Angola on Friday ended Ghana’s hopes of reaching the tournament, sparking widespread criticism.
The team’s poor performance, with no wins in five games and only two goals scored, has left them fourth in Group F with three points.
Addressing the backlash, Addo emphasized his coaching pedigree, citing experience under top coaches like Jürgen Klopp and Matthias Sammer.
“People can judge me by my results, which were not good,” Addo admitted, but highlighted the value of feedback from respected mentors. The Black Stars face Niger in their final qualifier on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
