South African side Santos have completed a deal with John Paintsil to play for the side in the NFD, as David Notoane attempts to help the team to return to the Premier Soccer League.
The Ghana international trained with the Cape side on his arrival in South Africa last week. Polokwane City tabled an offer for the experienced player in an attempt to further strengthen the side this season.
However, the Limpopo outfit failed in their bid to land their man and Santos swooped to make use of the opportunity.
Soccer-Laduma revealed on Thursday that the player was training with Santos, with the club’s chairman Goolam Allie having confirmed the news.
"We have concluded a deal to sign John Paintsil and are naturally delighted to have such an experienced player joining our ranks," Allie told the club's official website.
The 32-year-old has more than 80 caps for the national team of Ghana and his experience will be vital to help Notoane and his team.
