Former Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko player Charles Taylor has warned that starting the league soon will be dangerous to the safety of the officials as they have become targets of the supporters.
Taylor stated that referees are in the bad book of the supporters and any mistake can cause thelife of a referee.
“Starting the league now is not advisable at all. Right now everything is in the hands of supporters. If we make the mistake of starting the league now, referees will be killed because fans are really angry at them so any little mistake by a referee will warrant some beatings”, Taylor told Happy FM .
He further advised referees to redeem their image that has been drawn to the gutters through the exposé.
“Referees should know that people don’t trust them anymore. They must redeem themselves in the eyes of Ghanaians.”
“I wasn’t really surprised with the Anas exposè. Nobody can tell me that they have never taken money before. All those managing our national teams have accepted bribe before; in fact, all of them,” he added.
