Hearts of Oak shot stopper Samuel Akurugu says he would prefer joining a lower-tier side than being at the club for the upcoming season.
The former Hasaacas glovesman has requested for contract termination after last season’s Ghana Premier League.
However, the club is yet to take a firm decision on whether to grant Akurugu’s request.
“After getting my card from Hearts of Oak, i will say a lot of things,” he told Kumasi-based Angel FM.
“What i can say for now is, i am not happy at the Hearts of Oak. They should consider my letter and release me, i will consider even playing for a Division club.”
The diminutive goalkeeper joins the Phobians two seasons ago from Hasaacas.
