Sassuolo are reportedly looking to sign Ghanaian midfielder Godfred Donsah from Bologna in the summer.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a stellar campaign on loan at Belgian side Cercle Brugge in the Jupiler Pro League, making 20 appearances since joining them last summer.
Donsah has returned to his parent club Bologna with his future yet to be decided in the coming days.
Bologna boss Sinisa Mihaijlovic has already stated that a decision to keep the Ghanaian youngster at the club for next season would depend on his performances in pre-season though he is opened to any potential move.
He has been linked with a move to Lecce as manager Fabio Liverani wants to augment his team by making an outright purchase despite interest from Sassuolo.
According to reports in Italy, Sassuolo see Donsah as an ideal replacement for Alfred Duncan who left for Fiorentina last summer.
His contract with Bologna will end in 2022.
He has previously played for Serie A sides Hellas Verona and Cagliari.
