Italy-based striker, Emmanuel Gyasi will start for the Black Stars against South Africa in the absence of Crystal Palace striker, Jordan Ayew.

Jordan has been forced out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match because of the Premier League club's decision to block their players from traveling to countries on UK's red list.

And his absence, his likely replacement in the starting lineup is Spezia forward Emmanuel Gyasi who arrived in Ghana camp in great shape.

After two games in Italian Serie A this season, Gyasi has one goal and his work rate continues to improve.

Head coach Charles Akonnor can count on Gyasi for goals against the South Africans as the Black Stars hope for a second win.

Black Stars are on top of Group G after beating Ethiopia 1-0 on Friday.

Gyasi made his Black Stars debut earlier this year in Johannesburg against the same opponent that the Black Stars will be facing on Monday evening.

After missing the 2018 event in Russia, Ghana has set its sights on returning to the World Cup.
