Hungary secured a dramatic 1-1 draw against Germany in their Nations League tie, thanks to Dominik Szoboszlai’s Panenka penalty in the ninth minute of stoppage time. The penalty was awarded after VAR confirmed Robin Koch's handball. Germany had taken the lead earlier through Felix Nmecha’s first international goal.
Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany, who made nine changes, had already won Group A3 and remained unbeaten, advancing to face Croatia, Italy, or Denmark in the quarter-finals. Hungary finished third and will play relegation playoffs in March.
Elsewhere, the Netherlands, assured of second place, drew 1-1 with Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Brian Brobbey scored for the Dutch, while Ermedin Demirovic equalized. Bosnia had previously suffered a record 7-0 loss to Germany, ending their campaign at the bottom of the group.
