Brekum Chelsea captain Zakaria Fuseini has called on the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to take a decision that will favour players following calls from a session of football administrators to cancel the Ghana Premier League season.
Following President Nana Akuffo Addo’s directive, sporting activities in the country have been put to a halt due to the Coronavirus outbreak which has also affected sports across the globe.
It is unclear whether the football season will be truncated or not due to the rapid growth of the deadly disease.
But the towering guardsman of the Berekum based side wants the football association to take a decision that will favour players.
“The league has been put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. This will be the second time in two years the local league has been halted after the Anas Expose in 2018 led to the discontinuation of the league. So I want the GFA to take best decision on the fate of the league” he told Bryt FM in an interview
Before the suspension of the league, he guided his side to a second place finish with 26 points.
