16-year-old Matthew Cudjoe scored his debut Ghana Premier League goal as Asante Kotoko secured a 2-0 victory against Ebusua Dwarfs in Kumasi on Sunday.
The win ended Kotoko’s two games winless run and gives them needed confidence heading into next week’s super clash against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak.
The game was played behind closed doors with no fans at the Baba Yara Stadium as Kotoko serve a five a ban following the shooting incident in their game against Berekum Chelsea last weekend.
However, no fans didn’t deter the Porcupine Warriors as they claimed a deserved victory and in the process condemn the Crabs to their fifth straight defeat in the competition.
Songne Yacouba should have made it one nil for Kotoko in the first half but his effort from the penalty spot was well saved by Dwarfs goalkeeper.
Kotoko were by far the better side but Dwarfs managed to frustrate them until the 83rd when teenage sensation Cudjoe opened the scoring. Cudjoe latched onto Justice Blay's header and made a yard for himself before hitting the ball into the right bottom corner.
The goal spurred Kotoko on as they scored the second in the 86th minute. Richard Arthur was at the right place to stab home a rebound into the net.
