Bronx,

On Sunday July 26th, 2009, the Apostolic Church Int. USA (Royal Assembly)

saw the ordination of Rev. Steven Assifuah. Rev. Steven Assifuah rose from

the ranks of Youth Leader in Ghana, to presiding Elder and was called into

the ministry by the late Apostle Boafo a few years ago. The auditorium was

packed with people from all walks of life within the United States as well

as guests from Ghana. The women ministry was so beautiful in their African

wear (kente) and colorful head gears. The men were mostly dressed in suits.

The service was officiated by Pastor J. A. Addotey the President of the

Apostolic Church International who travelled from Ghana Apostle and the Area

suprintendent Apostle Ben Lomotey. The ordination also brought around some

of the great men and women of God, including Rev. Adu Gyamfi (BBT),

Rev.(Dr.) Amankwa of Pentecost, Rev. Akufo, Rev. Alexander Edwards

(Toledo), Apostle Ben Paul (Ghana) just to mention a few and Rev. Richard

Amponsah who was the M.C. for the event.

The Apostolic Instinct choir - Abigail Sika Agyemang, Annette Aggrey, and

Nana Bee entertained the congregation with inspiring song ministrations. One

of the most exciting moment of the day was when the president of the

Apostolic Church got on his feet to clap and cheer the song ministration of

Jesse Nunoo - a seven year old girl of the children?s group- who will also

be an opening artist for Nana Bee during his second album launching.

One of the most emotional moments of the event was when the Apostles and the

other Pastors laid hands to pray for Rev. Assifuah and his wife; Osofo maame

Doris Assifuah. After the prayers, Apostle Addotey blessed them and there

were hugs and tears of joy. After the prayer section, Rev. Assifuah went to

change his suites into the official clergy uniform. When he came out in that

uniform, the whole congregation started shouting for joy; the trumpet

sounded and everybody in that room started singing. Some of the women placed

their cloths on the floor, some waved them in the air; others were brought

to tears.

Apostle Addotey?s message of the day touched the hearts of everyone present.

He encouraged the new ordained Pastor and his family and urged the

congregation for their utmost support as they journeyed together.

An ordination service speaks extremely powerfully to those already

ordained. It reminds us of our high calling and its divine origin. It

points out to us the privilege and thrill of being a minister of the

gospel.

The Apostolic Church wants to say a big thank you to all the guests that

graced the occasion, including 3G Media, Ghanaweb and Ababio Media

Production.
