Unfortunately, the details of the deal were leaked, violating a confidentiality agreement, which ultimately led to the transfer's failure and left Mensah disheartened as he contemplated the lost chance that could have changed his career trajectory.
Reflecting on the situation, Mensah shared with Flashscore, "I couldn't stop thinking about flying to Spain. The next day, I saw news all over Ghana about Barcelona wanting me. I immediately contacted my agent to understand how the information got out, but he was also unaware." He concluded with a hopeful note, stating, "No one can predict the future. The chance to play for Barcelona might arise again." Currently, Mensah is with AJ Auxerre in Ligue 1 and has nearly 30 appearances for Ghana's national team, the Black Stars.
