Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur is expected to meet the victorious Ghana Cricket team after their emphatic qualification into the ICC Division 1 league.
According to Emmanuel Asare, the Vice President of the Ghana Cricket Association (GCA), the Minister of Youth and Sports promised them he will facilitate their meeting with the vice president after they made history in Benoni in South Africa last month.
Although Mahama Ayariga spoke well of the cricketers and promised them his outfit is in a position to help develop the sport, he will facilitate a meeting between the Ghana cricket team and the vice president so they can share their concerns with him.
“We met the minister and he spoke well of us and the achievements, no money was promised by the minister but he thanked us and said we are worthy ambassadors for Ghana and he will make sure monies accrue from football will be used to develop lesser known sports like cricket.
“He again said he will facilitate a meeting between the Ghana cricket team and the vice president of Ghana any time soon.
“So the association is waiting to get a call from the vice so we can tell him our concerns.
