Ahead of Black Queens WAFU Zone B Championship opener against Senegal, head coach of Black Queens Mercy Tagoe has revealed that the Black Queens are the target of the rest of the teams after their triumph in the maiden edition two years ago.
According to the former FIFA referee, the Black Queens have prepared very well for the competition and playing on Astro turf will not affect her side.
She however sees the other teams as a major headache as their title triumph two years ago has made them a target for all.
“Winning the maiden edition has put pressure on us,” Tagoe told the media before the game.
“Our motivation is our own team.
“We are very familiar with the AstroTurf, it’s not going to be a problem.
“We trained on it before moving to Ivory Coast,” he added.
Ghana have been drawn in Group B alongside Africa Champions Nigeria, Mali and Senegal.
