Former France defender Marcel Desailly has tasked stakeholders to put in the necessary measures to attract sponsors for the Ghana Premier League.
The former Chelsea player thinks that poor infrastructures play a huge role in the failure to attract sponsors and also highlighted the quality of referees.
“First we must restructure the league and organise it better. Restore our infrastructures; our infrastructures are very poor. On a private level I have been able put up some infrastructures at Lizzie’s Sports Complex,” he told Football Made in Ghana.
“The referees have to be serious. How we split into the year have to be link to what the sponsors and broadcasters are looking for.
“We need to raise our league to be able to keep our players in the system. The sponsors will bring the money. But the sponsors will come if the broadcasters are happy about the set up. So it’s a whole lot but it’s possible,” he added.
