Brekum Chelsea skipper Zakaria Fuseini says he and his teammates are willing to emulate the 2011 squad that won the Ghana Premier League for the first time in the clubs history.
Exactly 9 years ago today, the Brekum based club wrapped up the 2010/2011 Premier League title with three matches to spare.
The Brekum lads beat Real Tamale United (RTU) by a lone goal courtesy Emmanuel Clottey’s late strike from the spot in their Week 27 clash in Brekum to move 14 points at the top.
Zakaria Fuseini in an interview with Bryt FM said, he and his colleagues have targeted winning the Ghana league again.
“Since the club participated in the league, they’ve been able to win it once back in 2010/2011 season and as a captain of the club, I am hoping to win it again together with my teammates”
“After winning the league for the first time, the club have put in conscious effort to win it again but it always hit the snag. We are trying to win it for the second time and that’s why we were doing well in the suspended league. Our motive was to win it the GPL”
