Since his transfer from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for £45 million, he has participated in 13 matches this season, netting one goal and starting in 12 of them.
Despite some earlier criticism, Arteta commended Partey’s recent performances and versatility, particularly as his contract approaches its end next summer.
Arteta stated, “What we needed was for Thomas to reach the level we expected. He’s been working diligently and performing well in various roles, adapting to different requirements, and managing excellently. He’s a key player for us,” adding, “He’s in a great position, and we will discuss his future with Arsenal.”
Although Arsenal initially intended to allow Partey to complete his contract without an extension, his current form may prompt a change in strategy. Partey has also attracted interest from clubs such as Barcelona and Juventus, but his experience could be vital for the team's depth in the upcoming 2025/26 season.
