Wembley Sports Construction CEO recommends ‘hybrid system’ to resolve Ghana’s pitch issues

Robert Coleman, CEO of Wembley Sports Construction, has suggested a "hybrid system" combining astroturfs and stadium upgrades to tackle pitch challenges in Ghana.

This comes after CAF revoked the Baba Yara Sports Stadium’s license due to poor pitch quality, which could force Ghana to play their next AFCON qualifier against Sudan abroad.

Coleman highlighted the widespread use of astroturfs in cities like Istanbul and Barcelona, recommending that Ghana adopt similar solutions for community pitches while reserving high-quality, FIFA-certified fields for major stadiums.

Ghana faces Sudan on October 10, seeking their first win in the qualifiers.
