West Bromwich defender Ahmed Hegazi will miss Egypt's final World Cup qualifier against Ghana on Sunday due to personal reasons, the country's football association said on Tuesday.
Already-qualified Egypt meet Ghana away from home in their last Group E match, having earned their ticket to next year's Russia finals with one game to spare.
"Ahmed Hegazi left Egypt's training camp on Tuesday for family reasons," read a statement on the Egyptian FA's official website.
Hegazi is the second player to be omitted from Egypt's squad for the Ghana match after Ahly Jeddah left-back Mohamed Abdel-Shafi, who picked up an injury.
Liverpool's in-form winger Mohamed Salah was left out as coach Hector Cuper decided to rest him upon the player's request.
Egypt secured a World Cup berth for the first time since 1990 after defeating Congo 2-1 in Alexandria last month.
