An eight-year-old boy known as Kobina has been murdered at Adiembra, a suburb of Sekondi, in the Sekondi-Takoradi of the Western Region.
The body of the deceased which had a very deep cut on the neck was found in a plantain farm on Sunday, throwing the community into a state of shock.
The perpetrators of this heinous crime are not immediately known.
The Public Relations Officer of the Western Regional Police Command DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku who confirmed the unfortunate incident to Kasapa News disclosed that the grandmother of the boy had gone to make an announcement that he had gone missing for a day.
She added that it was in the process of searching for the boy that his lifeless body was found.
The body has been kept at the Effia Nkwanta Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Police have since commenced investigations into the murder to apprehend the culprits and further urged the public to volunteer information on the matter.
