A man believed to be in his mid-thirties, Jerry Lumor has been arrested by the Manhyia Divisional Police Command in Kumasi on Thursday, January 18, 2018, for impersonating as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and defrauding eight persons under the pretence of recruiting them to the Ghana Police Service.
Confirming the arrest to Otec News, the Divisional Police Commander ACP Kwaku Buah said a young man (name withheld) lodged a complaint at the Zongo Police station on January 18 that a ‘DSP” has duped him and seven of his friends of an undisclosed amount to help them enlisted into the Ghana Police Service in 2017.
“When Jerry Lumor was arrested today, he confirmed impersonating as a DSP and taking the money from the eight persons in helping them get recruited into Ghana Police Service,” he said.
“The suspect is in the custody of Zongo police custody as we speak, helping us with the investigation,” he added.
