The 2024 All African Women Poetry Festival celebrated Ghanaian writer Efua Theodora Sutherland in collaboration with various organizations.

Themed 'Poetry and Play,' it's part of her centenary celebrations.

Sutherland, a multifaceted figure, pioneered cultural institutions in Ghana post-independence.

The festival, held from May 23rd to 26th, 2024, in Accra, features workshops, dialogues, performances, and film screenings.

Reverend Dr. Joyce Aryee chairs the event, focusing on African women's literature.

Ten poets from Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya, including Titilope Sonuga and Moafrika Wa Mokgathi, participate, reflecting diverse cultures and perspectives.

The festival honors Sutherland's enduring literary legacy, inspiring writers and artists across Africa and beyond.
